Magnolia picking

Not picking flowers but great old stuff at an estate sale in the Magnolia neighborhood here in Seattle. Found a small pile of things I dig- see the photo here and holler if you want to purchase something. Most of it will end up in my shop at District in Georgetown. 5527 Airport Way, Seattle.

An old West Seattle house

Went to an estate sale in West Seattle yesterday at a great old, white wooden clapboard house. It was on set back on a double lot with views of Alki just down the street at the end of the block. This gorgeous old relic is bound for demolition soon, however, to make room for a mass of new townhomes. Sad to know that gorgeous, wide porch won't be hosting and more summer sunsets. Anyway, I found a couple fun things in the basement- a huge old canvas duffle bag and a set of black & white photos of Mt Hood, Oregon. And a sweet yellow rose bush.

Vintage trophies. If you can't win em, buy em.

I've been on the hunt lately for old, oddball trophies. Have found a few and they're currently living in our basement, on the top shelf of a Danish modular shelving unit. I'd like to think I could have won them myself back in the 1950's. hard to say, though. Cheers!

Fresh pick Wednesday

Just grabbed this metal topped workbench and Art Deco floor lamp. Pretty sure the shade isn't original & I'll replace it at some point. Apologize for the poor photos but had to get em in my van before the seller realized I scored such a great deal. ;) it's a good day, people!

long time gone. hello again!

i've been gone way too long but just want to check back in and share a brief update. i've been busy this past year working on several interior design projects, with my favorite being Urban Animal- a new vet clinic on capitol hill here in seattle. i was involved from soup to nuts on this one-  from sourcing vintage furnishings and fixtures, to spec'ing appropriate finishes for the rigors of vet clinic life. really proud of my friend (and client) Dr. Cherri Trusheim for realizing her dream and kicking some ass in the process. www.urbananimalnw.com  maybe my favorite feature of the space is the custom wallpaper i created (with the help of some very talented graphic designers) using vintage photos of people and their pets.

in addition to a few working on a few commercial projects this past year, i continued picking for various clients (traveling to new mexico, california, oregon, montana, idaho, wyoming and further exploring the great state of washington to find the good stuff), remodeled our basement, and married the love of my life. it was, to say the least, a very wonderful year. here are some photos of to catch you up to speed... and stay tuned here for future finds and adventures. give me a holler if you see something you want to purchase. cheers! sarah
