SOLD- Lightolier classic 1965 Lytegem lamp - $70

originally designed in 1965 by michael lax, the lightolier lytegem 8001 became an instant icon. its design was so remarkable that the MOMA inducted it into their permanent collection. the genius of its telescoping arm and swiveling head guarantee you'll have high-intensity, localized light for perfect reading. it takes an automotive 12v/25w bulb and has a high and low switch setting. the white shade measures about 3.5", the heavy cube base 2.5", and the arm extends to roughly 15". Design Within Reach, the arbiter of good taste for all you modernists, has recently reissued this classic lamp. but here's your chance to own a 1960's original- and what's better than an original?! other than a tiny chip on a front corner of the base, it's in fantastic vintage condition. no rewiring necessary.

SOLD- 50's darling bisque tiger lamps - $60 pair

who says these smart little tiger lamps only belong in a child's room? i'm pretty sure they'd look great in your sophisticated adult interiors, too. the tigers are in nearly perfect vintage condition, with no chips or marks, and only a small surface crack on the back of one. but, nothing to get in the way of form or function. they both stand about 10" tall, and really look sweet with a warm, ambient edison bulb on top. bulbs not included. (2010 is also the year of the tiger. i'm just sayin'.)

SOLD- mid-century CHROMCRAFT turquoise barstools- set of 3- $300

have you ever seen a time capsule in real life before? if so, were these 3 barstools inside it? who wants to be the proud new owner of these mint, mid-century gems?? they are honest-to-goodness original CHROMCRAFT Chromantic66 barstools, upholstered in an astonishingly vibrant turquoise, with polished chrome bases. they even have footrests- it's almost better than christmas. seat height is just about 25" from the floor, and they aren't adjustable. they DO, however, swivel around so you'll never be required to sit with your back to the door. if you're in the market for seating (and if you're not, you should be), these Chromantic66 barstools are for you. it's rare that i find this sort of item in such pristine condition- not a rip or tear in sight. lovely.

summer in seattle is finally here- i'm almost certain of it. what you're still missing, however, is this awesome 1960's fold-up/travel picnic table and chair set. but no worries, because i have it right here for you. this super compact set (weighs about 30 lbs all folded up in its sweet little case) easily unfolds into the most righteous picnic table and chairs in the universe. well, at least the vintage universe, and that's all i really care about. take your party anywhere- the forest, the meadow, a sandy beach, your pal's backyard, or your basement. this picnic set is adult sized and plenty sturdy- all steel and masonite- no plastic parts here. manufactured by the Milwaukee Stamping Co., Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, it's likely best enjoyed while drinking another true Milwaukee-made original: Miller High Life. The champagne of beers. go ahead- take your picnic on the road in style!

SOLD- rustic vintage wooden cabinet - $300

back in the day, maybe during the 1940's, someone took the time to build this fantastic, rustic wooden cabinet. it's constructed mostly of tongue and groove planks and painted a now-weathered white and green. the spinning wooden latch for the front doors is pretty great, as is the white porcelain knob. at some point in its history, the owner took a pencil to the top front rail and labeled it "Laundry Cupboard." a nice, personal touch. the dimensions are 42"H x 34"W x 22"D, and the shelf boards are also tongue and groove- meaning you can remove planks if you'd like the shelves to be different depths. it's hard to find a cabinet as honest and unrefined as this one, yet still packs this much character and charm. someone will be its next lucky owner.
